Supported garden volunteering
If you are unable to complete the referral form on your device, please contact us to request a phone call.
For adults aged 18+
Thursday mornings 10:45 - 13:15
Next block: Thursday 5th June – Thursday 3rd July 2025 (5 weeks)
From the beginning of June 2025, participants can sign up for blocks (each block is usually 4 - 6 weeks long, depending on the time of year and staff availability).
As we have limited places, we ask that, as much as possible, you commit to all the weeks in the block. Towards the end of each block, we will ask whether you want to sign up for the next one so we know how many places we’ll have for new people to join. This means that, as long as we have funding, you can keep coming for as long as you like!
Each session will focus on seasonal gardening tasks.
In addition, optional wellbeing activities will be scheduled in each session to help you deepen your connection to nature. This includes wildlife conservation, nature arts and crafts, bushcraft skills, heritage skills, mindfulness/relaxation, getting active in nature, nature journaling, etc.

For Growing Together: Inclusion and Conservation in the Surrey Hills
NatureWorks at Denbies is part of the Surrey Hills Society's Growing Together project which is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players for opening opportunities to connect with nature and natural heritage to benefit wellbeing. Growing Together empowers those with a disability, neurodiversity or from a minority ethnic background, to feel more confident in accessing natural heritage to support their wellbeing.
